She should have stayed out of it and allowed the contest between Murtha and Steny Hoyer to be decided at least as much over the ethics issue as the Iraq issue.

It is only the hot button issue of the moment: Iraq, that makes him a good political choice.
I'm sorry that Pelosi feels she needs to start out this way, making choices that amplify or perpetuate her power out of almost a purely political motivation, for that is in my view the way she'll finish up.
