We can only move forward to debate and decide responsible policy on the plethora of issues we all know need serious work when we disconnect K Street from the process of government.
We need to get our legislators working 5 days a week in Washington DC on legislation -- not fund raising.
We need to stop our legislators from outsourcing their legislative work to special interests -- the K Street bunch, among others.

Incoming Speaker Pelosi knows how to do it - she just needs everyone here to tell her that's the minimum we're prepared to tolerate, or the Dems will lose their majority as surely as the last bunch of profligate buzzards did.
That is a function groups and movements and individuals realistically can accomplish -- send a message to your representatives and senators, and to people like Reps Pelosi and Hoyer and Sen Reid that earmarking and part-time legislators will lose them their recent gains.
